ORTHODONTICS

Orthodontics is a branch of dentistry that aims to correct improper teeth alignment in order to optimize occlusion and masticatory functions and, at the same time, improve the aesthetic appearance of the smile.

Orthodontic treatment with aligners

Orthodontic treatment with clear aligners uses a series of removable dental trays modeled from impressions of the teeth. Such aligners must be worn at all times.

This type of treatment is advantageous for several reasons; the aligners are very discrete — almost invisible — easy to maintain and need only to be removed for eating and brushing. Depending on the specific complexity of the case, the treatment may last from 6 months to 3 years.

It is important to note, however, that this treatment is not suitable for all malocclusions. In some cases, other approaches will be required. During a consultation, your dentist will be able to assess the treatment best suited for your case.
