ROOT CANAL TREATMENT

Root canal treatment is the method of choice for saving teeth with damaged or infected nerves. The main goal of this procedure is to relieve pain, eliminate infection and preserve the tooth that would otherwise have to be extracted.

Root canal treatment

When deep decay or trauma has affected the tooth’s pulp, or inner tissue that contains the nerve, root canal therapy is recommended. The nerve is removed, the canals are thoroughly cleaned, disinfected and filled with a biocompatible material.

Once the treatment is complete, the treated tooth is often restored with a porcelain crown to reinforce its structure and function.

Teeth treated with root canal therapy are generally more fragile than natural teeth.
